Hi, I’m Joy,
I had lost myself before becoming a Mum… but as soon as I became one, my children became my entire world.
I was determined to give them the ‘perfect’ childhood - one I felt I had been robbed of. I went above and beyond to make sure they felt loved, heard and valued.
But in the process, I lost sight of who I was. I found myself constantly pleasing other mums so that our children could be friends - so that I felt accepted. I ignored my intuition, seeking external validation instead of trusting my inner knowing.
I was burning the candle at both ends - working full-time, handling school drop-offs and pick-ups, cooking, shopping, managing activities, bath time, bedtime …. the list was endless.
Then, one day, on my way to work, I blacked out in my car.
I had everything I thought I wanted - a house, a job, my beautiful children - but I was exhausted, anxious, sick and completely unfulfilled. My body was in a constant high alert, my mind clouded and for months, I cycled through doctors and emergency rooms with various health concerns as well as experiencing repeated panic attacks.
This was the beginning of a spectacular burnout.
I had hit rock bottom and during this time I was forced to pause and knew something had to change.
That’s when I decided to take life into my own hands and embarked on becoming certified as Holistic Wellness Coach and began rebuilding my life - through lifestyle shifts, supportive relationships and deep inner work.
BUT …
Even after all the progress, I saw the same destructive patterns in my relationships.
Asking for help was hard, but I found the courage to work on releasing my emotional wounds.
For so long, I had been so busy worrying about everyone else, trying to protect myself from pain and rejection, that I’d completely closed my heart off to the world.

So What My Life’s Like Now…
I’m no longer riddled with anxiety, consumed by what others think, or exhausting myself with playdates just to please people.
Today, I’m a much calmer, more grounded parent to my three precious kids. A few years ago, my youngest daughter told me, ‘It’s so easy to love you now Mum.’ That moment meant everything.
By setting healthy boundaries in all areas of my life, I’m proud to have mutual, respectful relationships - not driven by people-pleasing or the fear of rejection.
Having found my self-confidence to say ‘yes’ to myself, I’m able to express myself and have freed myself from the debilitating Chronic Fatigue that once left me bedridden and robbed me of time with my family.
Through self-love and self-respect, I’ve found the confidence to speak up for myself. I now attract what is meant for me, feel heard and respected when I express my needs, and I’m no longer afraid to go after what I know I am capable of achieving.
Lifestyle changes have drastically reduced my chronic stress, and I’ve even healed my body from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which plagued me for years.
Nurturing my nervous system has freed me from the panic attacks I used to have every few months, and releasing stored emotional baggage has completely eliminated the heart palpitations I suffered with for over a decade - something I was once told ‘I’d just have to live with.’
Self-love has empowered me to make healthier choices in every aspect of my life, allowing me to step fully into who I truly am - including embracing the parts of myself I once disowned.
